SDAO provides its members a broad range of support services in research and technical assistance.  We know it can often be challenging to know where to start with what is required and/or permitted by special districts under the Oregon Revised Statutes, and federal and state rules governing public entities. Our staff will address questions and provide guidance to the extent possible, including researching issues, citing the specific statutory guidance, and providing suggestions or best practices where appropriate.  Information developed in this process is retained and used for future reference.

Periodically, this will include direction to connect with other state or county agencies, or to obtain legal counsel.  In those instances our staff will work to identify the appropriate agencies, departments, or contact(s), and make attorney recommendations if requested.
