Position Information:
Canby Utility is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a confidential administrative assistant. This is a full-time, non-exempt, and non-represented position. Position Overview: As the Administrative Assistant - Confidential, you’ll provide administrative and technical support, manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion, and help ensure the smooth operation of department functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize utility records, including digital and paper systems.
- Support contract administration by ensuring vendor contracts are current and updated.
- Assist with human resources activities, including collective bargaining, recruitment, onboarding, and leave administration.
- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, and internal documents.
- Coordinate calendars and serve as the point of contact for public use of the boardroom.
- Assist with board meeting preparation and provide backup support for the Board Secretary.
- Assist with special events and safety program activities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Three years of technical and administrative experience, including two years in human resources or records management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- General knowledge of employment laws and best practices, and risk management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Previous experience working for a utility or public agency is preferred.
Canby Utility offers an excellent schedule and benefits package.
