Position Overview:

The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and enhancing aquatic programs at a recreation facility, including swim lessons, water safety events, and camps. The role involves supervising 10-25 minor-aged employees, delegating tasks to head lifeguards, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, promote, and occasionally participate in aquatic programs.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate aquatic staff, including lifeguards.
• Adapt programs for special populations (e.g., hospitals, military, children, seniors).
• Enforce water safety regulations and ensure sanitation and maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with medical and social work professionals to integrate aquatic activities with other services.
• Inspect the facility for safety hazards and manage emergency situations.

Supervisory Duties:

• Supervise 10-25 minor employees in the Aquatics Department, managing tasks like hiring, training, performance evaluations, and addressing complaints.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; prior experience in aquatics or managing minors is preferred.
• Certifications required or to be obtained within a few months: Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Aquatics Facility Operator, Water Safety Instructor.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work in wet and noisy environments.
